The award-winning comedian has been a staple on stage and television screens for more than 15 years. A team captain on Channel 4’s 8 out of 10 Cats, Lock has also been a host of Live at the Apollo and a frequent panellist on QI and Have I Got News For You.

He is also regular headline performer at London’s Comedy Store and has appeared at all the major comedy festivals around the world, including Edinburgh, Melbourne and Montreal.

This year marks the 21st anniversary of the Credit Awards and Lock follows Jimmy Carr’s appearance as ringmaster and presenter in 2019, and Katherine Ryan in 2018. The awards ceremony will once again be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Grosvenor House London, Park Lane, on 14 May.

New judges have also joined the independent judging panel, which features risk, credit and collections executives from Nationwide Building Society, Shell, Virgin Money, United Utilities, Vodafone, Npower, HSBC and other major creditors.

Once again, the Credit Awards will raise funds for charity via an auction and this year, Credit Strategy is supporting the Shooting Star Children’s Hospice, a charity providing support for children with life-limiting conditions.

Across 21 years, attendees at the Credit Awards have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities, supporting the likes of Childline, Bone Cancer Research Trust and The Children’s Trust. During the past two decades, guests’ donations and bids have raised more than £150,000 for good causes. In 2019 alone, all of Credit Strategy’s awards programmes raised a staggering £93,000 for various charities.

Anyone looking to enter the Credit Awards this year can save £200 by entering by Friday 7 February 2020. This is the deadline for free entries but after this date, firms will have until Friday 14 February to enter, for a £200 fee. Premium members can enter by 14 February for free.

Firms can enter as many of the 31 categories as they wish. Readers can also pick up tips for writing entries in our guide.

To enter and book your table, visit the Credit Awards booking page.

In 2019, more than 200 entries were submitted for the Credit Awards - a record year.
