Held at the Hilton London Bankside Hotel following the TRI Conference 2019, the awards recognised the range, variety and best practice of work undertaken by professionals in the TRI space, both as firms and individually.

In a sombre moment, the Sabin Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Industry was awarded posthumously to Gabriel Moss. A eulogy was read in his honour, detailing the impact Moss had on shaping insolvency law and policy in the UK over several decades.

Kirkland & Ellis was the most successful firm on the night, claiming three awards including Corporate Rescue of the Year – Legal Team, Insolvency Law Firm of the Year - Over Three Insolvency Partners and International Firm of the Year.

Personal Debt Solution Provider of the Year went to PayPlan, while Begbies Traynor’s Abbie Suttling received the Rising Star award.

In a new category for 2019, The Personal Insolvency Litigation Advice and Representation Scheme won the Special Award for Pro-Bono Service.

The Special Award for Pro-Bono Service recognises services undertaken and ultimate outcomes for those to whom the services are provided.

Judges felt the entry showed “a scheme with real virtue”.

“It shines a light on the work undertaken to assist individuals in navigating the complex process for annulment of a bankruptcy order,” they said.

Guests were entertained by comedian Ivo Graham, who is best known for his appearances on Have I Got News For You and Mock The Week.

Credit Strategy would like to thank the night’s headline sponsors CAPA, along with category sponsors Gordon Brothers, John Pye, Metis Partners, Nexia International, Smith & Williamson, Chamberlain & Co and sponsors Menzies and SIA Group.
