Manolete Partners to headline sponsor TRI Conference

Credit Strategy is proud to confirm that Manolete Partners is headline sponsor of the TRI Conference 2019.

Taking place at the London Hilton Bankside on November 13, 2019, the TRI Conference brings together turnaround, restructuring and Insolvency (TRI) specialists with funds, merger and acquisitions advisers, lawyers, corporates and lenders.

The conference showcases successful turnaround, restructuring and insolvency case studies, to examine the precise, practical factors that made them a success. The event will be a fantastic opportunity for those seeking to understand the inner workings of rescuing renowned businesses.

The TRI Conference will aid professionals looking to make vital connections within the world of funding, deal advisory, the legal profession, or the wider corporate rescue world, to make a turnaround happen.

They’ll also gain specific insights from those at the top of their game in the TRI space.

Sessions will take place looking at case studies showcasing best practice in trading through administrations.

There will be both economists’ and industry viewpoints on the economic climate and panel discussions on changes to crown preference and the conditions facing retail and high street businesses.

This year has seen a continuation of collapses of high street names, including Jamie’s Italian, HMV and Oddbins, while Debenhams was notably rescued in a pre-pack administration.

Away from the high street, British Steel entered compulsory liquidation in May, risking 5,000 jobs in the UK – mainly at its Scunthorpe plant – and more than 20,000 in its supply chain.

In a statement, the government’s Official Receiver said the company would be wound up in the high court and that the priority would be the continued safe running of the sites.

It added all employees’ wages have been paid for May with the assistance of British Steel’s lenders, and they “will continue to be paid as normal as long as they continue to turn up for work”.

Meanwhile, Bolton Wanderers became the first English Football League side to go into administration since Aldershot Town in 2013.

The club will play in League One next season after it was relegated from the Championship this term. Appointing administrators means the team will start next season with a 12-point deduction.

A takeover bid was made for the club by former Watford FC owner Laurence Bassini, but that deal faltered after he failed to provide proof of funds for the transaction.
