Credit Strategy launches its Household Credit Conference

Credit Strategy will hold its Household Credit Conference, previously known as the U&T Conference, at the Nottingham Belfry on October 5.

The conference has been rebranded to reflect and equally address the differing needs of water, energy and telecoms credit and collections professionals.

Credit Strategy has been gathering credit, risk, collections and compliance experts from a wide spectrum of the UK’s utilities and telecoms providers for this annual conference for nearly a decade.

At the event we’ll be addressing the shared problems facing water, energy and telecoms professionals such as data sharing and GDPR.

We’ll also be dealing in isolation with the issues unique to each industry. In the water stream we’ll be looking at PR19, domestic open water and forbearance; in the energy stream the OFGEM/CMA report and SMART metering; and for telecoms, future billing models and tariffs.

Professionals will be able to both drill down to the issues specific to their sector, as well as benefit from ideas and insight from their peers who are overcoming common challenges.

Speakers include Jeremy Heath, innovation manager at Sutton and East Surrey Water, Gary McCready, director of commercial planning at Dixons Carphone, and Rob Smith, head of policy and public affairs at Smart Energy GB.

Many more speakers will participate in the conference including those from British Gas, Tesco Mobile, Citizens Advice and United Utilities.

The day will begin with a plenary session discussing the post-election landscape followed by topics such as how to tackle occupier debt before breaking up into the individual streams.

The streams will include content on data sharing, mitigating fraud and theft risk and the impact of smart meters before returning to plenary to end the day.

Later on in the day, at the same venue, the U&T Awards will take place rewarding the hard work and innovations of organisations ranging across various areas including vulnerable customer support to best technology.
