Shard Financial Media has appointed Calum Fuller as editor of Credit Strategy, succeeding Marcel Le Gouais who is taking on the role of consulting editor.
Fuller was previously assistant editor of Accountancy magazine between June 2016 and February 2018, where he was responsible for news, features and commissioning content.
Prior to that, he spent more than four years as a reporter at Accountancy Age and Financial Director magazines, covering tax, technology, insolvency, audit and accounting standards.
Fuller has notably interviewed the CFO and acting CEO of South African mining giant Lonmin in the wake of riots at its Marikana mine; the now-CEO of the Rugby Football Union Steve Brown as he prepared to deliver the 2015 Rugby World Cup; and most recently in May 2017 uncovered a tax avoidance scheme using gold bullion, which was subsequently ruled against by HMRC’s General Anti-Abuse Rule (GAAR) Panel in its first-ever decision.
Commenting on the appointment, Fuller said: “I’m delighted to be joining Credit Strategy and working with their excellent team in delivering equally excellent, thoughtful, quality content and events in the coming months and years.”
Consulting editor Marcel Le Gouais will continue to produce content for Credit Strategy online, the magazine and the events.
He said: “It is great to have Calum on board as we head into one of our busiest periods of the year, with Credit Week, our Parliamentary Reception, the Credit Summit and the Women in Credit Awards all approaching fast.
“Calum’s experience, enthusiasm and eye for detail will ensure the Credit Strategy magazine and website will retain their vital roles in informing such a diverse range of job functions in various industries.
“I’d like to thank all the columnists, economists, trade bodies, regulators, CROs and others across these industries, along with the editorial and design team here at Credit Strategy, for their help in creating informative, authoritative, insightful content for our audience.”
