Mortgage market webinar: Competition, margin and product design

Are mortgage lenders poised to revamp their products, or move up the risk curve? These questions will be answered in a Credit Strategy webinar on Friday November 15, examining competition, margins and new approaches to risk.

As many lenders compete for the same customer base, and strive to generate better margins in a highly competitive market, this webinar will feature an expert panel exploring whether lenders may broaden their risk appetite or redesign their products.

The panel, brought together by Credit Strategy and Sopra Banking, will look to answer the question: Is this the end of mortgage products as we know them?

Featuring experts in mortgage product design, credit risk, intermediary lending and technology, the discussion will explore how lenders may evolve their propositions in future, looking at:

  • Competition stagnation in the mortgage market: Have we reached a turning point? How and where will lenders look to generate better margins?
  • Will lenders move up the risk curve?
  • As they look to serve a disparate group of customer profiles, will lenders require a new approach to credit risk?
  • In a digital world, should mortgage products become more tailored to profiles?

You can register for the webinar on the Credit Strategy registration page.

Alongside host Marcel Le Gouais (managing editor, Credit Strategy), and Phillip Bourne (head of mortgage propositions, Sopra Banking), the panel features Louisa Sedgwick, head of sales – mortgages at Vida Homeloans, and Danny Belton, head of lender relationships at Legal & General Mortgage Club. More lenders taking part will be announced in the next few days.
