The firm has partnered with Belfast-based solicitors Wilson Nesbitt which now means it will be active in Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales.

It said the expansion has been driven by its work with banks and other lender clients looking to streamline their recovery panels.

Scotland-based Aberdein Considine provides services to commercial clients including the Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Banking Group and Santander.

Rob Aberdein, UK partner in charge of lender services at Aberdein Considine, said: “The agreement allows us to provide legal services to lenders across all jurisdictions and will see both firms integrate compliance frameworks and case management systems in order to deliver a seamless, multi-jurisdiction service.”

The firm’s English and Welsh operation, based in Newcastle, is led by partner Matt Wightman and commercial litigator Thomas Lillie.

Aberdein Considine has also formed a partnership with CILEx Law School (CLS) in England. The firm will act as a major stakeholder in the development of a new school campus in Newcastle.

Nicola Goodman, learning and development manager at CILEx Law School, said: “We are seeing a big increase in interest in apprenticeships amongst our clients with the introduction of the levy now only a matter of months away.”
