Indesser appoints Equifax’s Parry as CEO

Indesser, a joint consumer debt management venture between TDX Group and the Cabinet Office, has appointed Equifax’s vice president for external affairs Rhona Parry as chief executive.

Parry joined Equifax in 2017, where she developed networks for the company with key industry, regulatory and government stakeholders and spearheaded Equifax’s efforts across financial inclusion, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

Prior to joining Equifax, Parry held senior public policy roles at Royal Mail Group, the BBC and ITV. She began her career in the government, first at the Radiocommunications Agency, part of the Department for Trade and Industry and later at the regulator Ofcom.

In her new role, in which she succeeds Adrian Crean, Parry will also sit on the board of Indesser which is made up of senior leaders from government and Equifax. Since its formation in 2015, Indesser has worked with a range of government departments to improve debt management capabilities.

Andy Briscoe, chair of Indesser, said: “It’s estimated that £18bn is currently owed to the public sector and utilities, money which could be reinvested in vital public services if recouped.

“Rhona brings with her a great deal of experience from both the public and private sectors. We welcome her valuable leadership of our strategy for the future. We would also like to thank Adrian for his passion and commitment in leading Indesser from its launch through to the highly successful business it is today. We wish him every success in the future.”

Parry said: “I’ve seen first-hand the success that Indesser has achieved in just four years and I’m excited to be taking the business forward. I look forward to working with the experts in the Indesser team and our government partners to draw on the most innovative solutions and data analysis in the market, to achieve our goal of reducing public debt levels while treating consumers in debt fairly and responsibly.”
