The Collections, Debt Sale & Purchase (CDSP) Conference is attended by a range of delegates, including chief executives of debt buyers and collection agencies, partners at debt recovery law firms and those heading up the collections and recoveries divisions within lenders.

Following a plenary session on the future of debt sale and contingency collections, and what the introduction of the Senior Managers Regime will mean for consumer credit firms, the agenda will be split into two streams.

The two streams will focus on UK collections and the European NPL market.

Key issues to be discussed during the day include assessing indebtedness and affordability, digitalisation of collections, conduct and strategy in public sector collections, and effective portfolio management.

To end the day, the streams will return to a plenary session to review the implementation of IFRS9 and GDPR, to dissect their seismic effects.

A preview of speakers include Iñigo Velázquez, managing director at Bankia, Michael Hainge, commercial director at Hammersmith and Fulham council, Heather Williams, head of collections at 18118 Money, and Ross Molden, head of collections strategy and recoveries at NewDay.

A glance of the agenda can be found here; the full agenda, chaired by Leigh Berkley, vice president of FENCA, will be revealed on August 14.

In the evening after the conference, the Collections & Customer Service (CCS) Awards will take place to reward the individuals and firms that are an example of best practice in conduct, compliance and collections.

Entries for the CCS Awards cost £200 but are free up until August 25. The final deadline closes on September 1.

If you would like to get involved in the event there are opportunities to become a speaker or sponsor the conference (call 020 7940 4835).
