Once again, the awards will champion the companies and individuals across the TRI arena who are leading the charge for diversity. After a successful introduction in 2018, the TRI Awards will again feature the Diversity Champion category and the TRI Company Award for Diversity and Inclusion.

But in the spirit of evolving alongside the profession, and in a bid to recognise exceptional work that until now hasn’t been included in the awards programme, the TRI Awards 2019 will also feature the following new categories:

· Special Award for Pro-Bono Service

· TRI Employer of the Year

· TRI Award for Forensic Investigation of the Year

The Special Award for Pro Bono Service is open to all individuals, from officers, agents and managers up to turnaround practitioners, insolvency practitioners and lawyers, providing their services on this basis.

In this category judges will be looking for details on the services undertaken and ultimate outcomes for those to whom the services are provided. The category is also designed to reward those providing a wider societal benefit, such as access to justice or any other services relevant to the TRI profession.

For the first time, the TRI Awards 2019 will also strive to recognise the individuals and teams conducting forensic investigations in the insolvency and recoveries arena. Whether they’re specialist forensic investigators, or those who work in the public sector probing the conduct of rogue directors, this category will shine a light on their exceptional work.

The TRI Employer of the Year category has also been introduced, to recognise companies with outstanding staff satisfaction and engagement levels, HR policies that ensure staff welfare and a commitment to training, coaching and career progression.

To view the full list of categories see the TRI Awards entry page.

This year the awards take place on November 13 at the Hilton London Bankside hotel. As well as headline sponsor Capa, more companies are supporting the awards programme in 2019, with Smith & Williamson and Nexia already signed up as category sponsors.

The TRI Conference, which features landmark examples of business rescue case studies and returns for its third year, will be held on the same day prior to the awards.

This event brings together turnaround specialists with private equity funds, M&A advisers and corporates, lawyers and insolvency practitioners, to hear practical insight on how major firms have been restructured.

Further details on the conference, which is already sponsored by legal partners Moon Beever and Howard Kennedy, are coming soon.
