NPL executives from Europe’s largest banks to speak at Credit Summit

Senior executives from banks with NPL portfolios across Europe such as HSBC, HSH Nordbank and Raffeisen will be speaking at the CDSP: European NPL Conference, part of the Credit Summit on March 15.

They will be joined by speakers from other European banks such as Eurobank Ergasias and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will be speaking, identifying deleveraging opportunities in Europe and exploring successful portfolio management solutions.


The influential speakers and panellists will be in attendance at the QEII Centre in Westminster on March 15, where the CDSP NPL Conference will be one of eight conferences that form part of the Credit Summit.


Speakers from Europe’s largest banks include Oskar von Kretschmann, European head of illiquid and distressed sourcing, Peter Sickel, head of special credit management for shipping at HSH Nordbank, Mehdi Khoudjai, deputy head of loan syndication and distribution at Raiffeisen, and George Bobvos.


There will also be a panel discussion on Italian NPLs. Italy’s NPL market is Europe’s largest, making up a third of the value €300m (£267m) of Europe’s entire NPL market, according to Arrow Global.


The conference comes amid increased M&A and debt sale activity across the Italian market, and last week, debt purchaser Arrow Global agreed to acquire two separate Italian credit firms, as part of its efforts to bolster its investment and asset management service lines and expand in the Italian market. The combined deals come to €82m.


There will be a key panel discussion focussing on the appetite for debt purchase in Europe, with Apartners partner Josh Silver and IFC global head of distressed asset investments Josep Julia.

Talks will also be held on the Greek market and the Central and Eastern European market, with speakers from DUTB, Erste Group and FBN Bank all involved.
