Returning to the Nottingham Belfry Hotel on September 19, the conference marks its ninth year.

Uniting credit, risk, collections and compliance experts from a wide spectrum of the UK’s utilities and telecoms providers, the event will address key topics such as the evolution of customer engagement and vulnerability, data transparency post GDPR and shared challenges.

The day kicks off with plenary sessions covering engaging ethically with customers in debt, universal credit and consumer vulnerability. The conference then splits into two targeted streams; energy and water, followed by customer service and data after the lunch break. Professionals will be able to both drill down to the issues specific to their sector, as well as benefit from ideas and insight from their peers who are overcoming common challenges.

Key sessions across the day include what good looks like when balancing automated and human contact strategies, forming your customer contact strategy and technological advances in 2018 and sessions with OFGEM and OFWAT.

The conference welcomes expert speakers including Dennis Berg, senior manager for vulnerability and consumer policy at OFGEM, Ronan Palmer, Director of Strategy and Planning at OFWAT, Stephen Murray, energy commercial manager at Moneysupermarket, Rob Mayer, Head of Debit and Credit at British Gas and Alex Russell-Rutherford, customer experience manager at Wessex Water.

The Utilities & Telecoms Awards take place on the evening of the Household Credit Conference to recognise, honour and celebrate the hard work and best practice of organisations ranging across various areas including vulnerable customer support to best technology.
