The scheme aims to reflect the exceptional and critical work within the collections and customer services industry and will recognise the outstanding achievements of professionals with a particular focus on conduct and compliance.

New categories this year include Debt Purchaser of the Year, Best Debt Seller and Best Asset Sale Due Diligence Provider. For the first time, the scheme will recognise teams within creditors who execute a highly successful debt sale strategy while maintaining excellent customer service and communication.

As the market for transactions in non-performing loan portfolios continues to thrive around Europe, the scheme will also for the first time champion the due diligence providers who perform pivotal roles for such deals.

The 2017 awards also includes categories such as Best Debt Advice Provider, Charitable Initiative of the Year, Best Conduct & Compliance Culture, Best Judicial Services Provider and others focussing on vulnerability. This year’s judging panel will once again include senior professionals from some of Britain’s biggest banks and creditors.

Last year around 400 people celebrated the awards in Manchester, including senior directors within banks, building societies, credit card providers, debt purchasers and advice charities. They were joined by firms from the breadth of the industry - BPO providers, debt collection agencies, law firms and technology providers.

In 2016, generous guests raised a total of £3,000 for the scheme’s chosen charity, the Children’s Air Ambulance, which flies critically ill children across the UK to get the specialist care they need. More than £700 of this donation was pledged by judicial services group Marston Holdings.

Once again, the awards night will follow the Collections/Debt Sale & Purchase (CDSP) Conference – the agenda for which is coming soon.
