Credit 500 2020/21 nominations underway

The process of collating the next Credit 500 list is well underway, and you could be involved.

To create a nomination for the Credit 500 2020/21, all you have to do is provide a 150-word entry explaining why your chosen individual deserves to be in the index. It is also possible to nominate yourself.

Credit 500 members are the 500 business and divisional leaders who have made a measurable difference in their field, under the umbrella of a credit-related function.

 

Entries must evidence the individual has met at least one of the following criteria:

  • Shown a level of influence in their organisation or profession;
  • Demonstrated best practice;
  • Been recognised for their work;
  • Helped to educate their peers, whether that be through content contributions, speaking at conferences or webinars, and so on;
  • Advocated the promotion of their profession.

Throughout the nomination process, the editorial team will also ask for submissions from notable individuals it has kept track of, as well as recommendations from the industry.

 

Following strategic consultation, nominations will then be finalised by the editorial team in conjunction with a board of trusted advisers.

 

The Credit 500 is broken down into specific sub-groups, this year including:

 

Alternative lending

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the alternative lending group:

  • Lending volumes;
  • Customer service;
  • Compliance;
  • Product design and;
  • Intermediary relationships

Car finance

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the car finance group:

  • Lending volumes;
  • Customer service;
  • Compliance;
  • Product design, and;
  • Intermediary relationships

Consumer credit

Candidates with ultimate or senior responsibility and oversight for the following should consider entry to the consumer credit group:

  • Credit risk policy;
  • Conduct and compliance risk;
  • Influence on collections and recoveries function, through involvement in setting risk appetite forbearance policies and arrears treatment;
  • More direct or ultimate responsibility for collections and recoveries, including debt sale, contingency, compliance and conduct, DCA panel oversight.

Commercial finance

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the commercial finance group:

  • Lending volumes;
  • Customer service;
  • Compliance;
  • Product design, and;
  • Intermediary relationships

Credit card

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the credit card group:

  • Product design;
  • Lending volumes;
  • Customer service;
  • Credit risk policy, or;
  • Collections in the credit card group

Influencers

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the influencers group:

  • Regulation;
  • Debt advice, and;
  • Conduct practices

Knowledge & professional services

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the knowledge & professional services group:

  • Customer service;
  • C&R;
  • credit risk decisions;
  • Data/technology/fraud prevention and;
  • Compliance

Mortgage

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the mortgages group:

  • Product design;
  • Lending volumes;
  • Customer service;
  • Credit risk policy and;
  • Intermediary relations in mortgage group

Trade credit

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the trade credit group:

  • Effective credit management policy and;
  • Process

Utilities & telecoms

Those with responsibility for the following should consider entry to the utilities & telecoms group:

  • Debt management;
  • Credit risk;
  • Fraud prevention;
  • Pricing;
  • Customer service and;
  • Collections and recoveries

Nominations close on December 13, 2019.
