Kelly Gosnay, Equifax, is speaking at Credit Week 2026! Find out more about Kelly and what she’s looking forward to at Credit Week below...
What was your journey to your role today, would you say it’s been a typical career path?
I studied French and business at university, so I have spent some of my early career working in Education in Paris, so very different to the work I do today in a Credit Bureau. After completing a Masters in International Marketing, I joined a graduate training programme that opened my eyes to the opportunities in larger, corporate organisations.
If you weren’t working in credit and financial services, what would you be doing?
I have previously spent time working in telco and utilities with some great companies. Both are really interesting sectors, so I think I would be working in one of these. I love Product Management as it’s so varied, so I would definitely still be doing a product role.
What is something that not many people know about you?
I played the trumpet for about 15 years and at one point thought I might pursue a career in music. Not sure I was quite good enough and definitely can’t play today!
What is the most significant challenge facing the credit/financial services industry today?
The biggest challenge in the fraud domain is the acceleration of technology, with more tools than ever being available to fraudsters. AI is making fraud harder than ever for companies to keep up with the pace of change.
Which session or theme at Credit Week are you most looking forward to, and why?
The session that I’m most looking forward to is The scam economy: Understanding and educating the vulnerable and the overconfident. It is such an important topic to continue to educate on the threat of scams at every opportunity, and something that I believe we all have a role to play in.
What trend or development are you excited about in the credit / financial services sector?
The emergence and adoption of FRAML - Fraud and Anti-Money Laundering - two historically siloed departments. The rise of AI and in particular criminal networks threatens organisations. The real-time nature of the payments industry is putting emphasis on the need to act quickly and to move to proactive defence, and the need for a 360-degree view of risk.
What do you hope to take away from Credit Week 2026?
I’m looking forward to learning more about the trends that are being seen across different industries, and gathering valuable insights. I know we will also meet lots of great people.
What advice would you give to someone who’s starting their career in the industry?
Make the most of any opportunity that comes your way. Sometimes it might not be exactly what you want to do or where you see yourself, but there are positive takeaways in all experiences.
