Getting to know...Jamie Pritchard

Every two weeks, as part of this newsletter, we will be allowing you to get to know one of our speakers, giving you a chance to get to know the people currently shaping the industry. This week it’s the turn of Precise Mortgage’s Head of Sales, Jamie Pritchard.

Jamie, having turned his back on rugby superstardom, coming through the much vaunted Belgian age group system, turned to FS to satisfy his love of building relationships and his interest in selling (we’re sure the pay didn’t hurt). We took the chance to ask him a few questions for the newsletter.

Q) What is the story of your career so far?

“As mentioned I didn’t really grow up dreaming of a career in financial services, but have ended with over 17 years’ industry experience in roles I’ve loved. I’ve covered multiple roles from being a Mortgage Broker and leading a team of Business Development Managers, to working for companies that include Standard Life and the Principality Building Society.”

Q) What is your favourite part about your job?

“I love working for a company that is innovative and listens to the needs and wants of lenders. Working around specialist lending solutions is much more interesting than just lending; working with lenders and brokers to find the best solution for the customer is really rewarding.”

“Another part of my job, I really enjoy, is to train and manage my team; making sure they feel empowered and are working to the best of their ability.”

Q) What are you most looking forward to about the conference?

“I’m excited to speak about upskilling on the BTL panel, to enhance the audience’s understanding about how integral BTL still is to the economy.”

Thanks Jamie, and make sure you get the chance to hear his in-depth thoughts on the industry during the BTL panel at the Mortgage Conference.
